Please don’t refer to “Claudine…!” as shoujo ai/yuri. It’s a oneshot dealing with a trans man struggling to find a woman to love, and mislabeling that manga means that y’all are mis-gendering Claude. :/ If you want old school yuri, try Oniisama e….

hello!!!! i never post on here anymore but am doing so today because i need to share with you all something very important: a yuri manga rec list !!!
a few notes before i get to the list:
and now for that good content, in no particular order:
hi everyone! since a lot of yuri manga centers around school girls it’s easy for series that don’t fit the mold to get drowned out. i’ve decided to make this list because always good to have and acknowledge variety!
i’ve split up the list into two sections: series about adult women and series not about adult women

All time favorites are Utena/Anthy, Bubblegum/Marceline, Fang/Vanille, Madoka/Homura, Xena/Gabrielle. I also have a really passing love with slash of Beatrix/Dagger in FF9. I apparently am really in love with the pink/purple (or blue) like pair up in my yuri idk.
As for yaoi ships, yes, I do. Though I don’t reblog them here very much because I want this blog to be all about the ladies. There’s a few exceptions of things I think are too cute. I have a reblog blog for m!slash that I just reblog art of BL- Mostly it’s free!, Welcome to Night Vale, and Dramatical Murder right now though.
So many good choices for yuri! and kyaa Free! Is so fluffy especially MakoHaru ^.^ Must check out Night Vale and Dramatical Murder fandoms as well.
welcome to night vale is utterly fabulous!!!!!
But be careful with Dramatial murder. It’s a bit dark- it’s a BL visual novel so it’s got nsfw in it too hahah I like it though ;w;
to be honest, I see more yuri fans shitting on yaoi fans and it’s really annoying
well, I guess both have their share of rotten apples
holy shit i’m not the only one who noticed this thank god
hell yeah! also people parade on like it’s the best thing to ever exist, when it also has its fair share of shit
i like reading yuri more than yaoi because you can find more characterization and chemistry between the couples (+ cute girls in love is never a bad thing), but man it has fanservicey shit too, like sakura trick (not that there’s anything wrong, just way too bland for me)
Sadly a lot of them are one shots, but there’s a few longer ones. A lot of yuri manga is tragically too short and I’m always left wanting more. D:
After some struggles with myself, I ended up putting stories about college aged women so long as it’s not “innocent school life” heavy.
Yamaji Ebine
Morishima Akiko
Other Artists:
Two that I recommend but are set apart from the others because one is written by a man and one is written with the male audience in mind respectively
This is by no means an exhaustive list and I know there’s more (one particularly that I wanted to put on here but couldn’t remember the title of) so feel free to add on your favorite adult queer lady manga to the list!

Rica Takashima - Rica ‘tte Kanji?! is a short graphic novel about Takashima’s university years in Tokyo in the local LGBTQ scene and dating her girlfriend.
Takeuchi Sachiko - Honey & Honey is a cute slice of life autobiographical novel about the author’s relationship with her girlfriend. She throws in explanations of Japan’s LGBTQ culture as well.
